I forgot to promote my best episode

Hi Reader,

I did something recently that was EXTRA human.

I fucked up.

I genuinely thought I had sent an email out telling all of you about one of my favorite podcast episodes of the year.

Turns out...

I did not.

In my defense, I was busy frolicking around Canada illegally—but that's a story for another day.

Here's what's wild, though.

I recorded an episode of The FitZen Project with Cherie Dawn Haas, and looking back, I'm not entirely sure that episode was for my audience nearly as much as it was for me.

Because something happened during that conversation.

My neurons started firing in places I hadn't felt in a while.

Ideas started connecting.

I started seeing my podcast differently.

That conversation became a catalyst.

After recording with Cherie Dawn, I created a new podcast intro. New cover art. And eventually, a new tagline that has completely changed how I think about this work:

Alignment is the new hustle.

I started taking the podcast—and honestly, myself and this brand—more seriously.

And apparently, you felt something too.

Because that episode has had the highest downloads of any episode over the last 30 days and set a record for initial downloads when it was released.

And do you know what incredible marketing strategy I used?

Absolutely fucking nothing.

I recorded it.

I released it.

And I let it ride.

At one point, the YouTube video even accidentally went PRIVATE, and I didn't notice.

Yet the episode kept moving.

Explain that one, would you?

I can.

The energy was that good.

Something shifted in that conversation, and I think people can feel when something is real.

That's one of the things I'm learning as I continue building The FitZen Project: not everything that changes you arrives looking like a big breakthrough.

Sometimes it's a conversation.

A sentence.

An idea you've heard 100 times before that suddenly lands differently on the 101st.

All of my podcast guests inspire me. I mean that.

And then there are certain conversations where someone says something that finds a completely different place in my soul.

My conversation with Cherie Dawn was one of those.

We talked about authenticity. Creativity. Letting go. Trusting yourself. Defining success for yourself. Following the tiny nudges that eventually create an entirely different life.

We talked about fire dancing and yoga and writing books and turning a vineyard into a butterfly trail.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that...

I changed.

So, several weeks late and with absolutely no sophisticated marketing strategy whatsoever, I'm finally giving this episode the send-off it deserved.

If you've already listened, thank you. You apparently found it without my help. 😂

And if you haven't, start here:

Maybe this conversation has something waiting for you, too.

With gratitude,

P.S. Pay attention to the conversations that make your neurons start firing. The people who make you reach for your notebook. The ideas you can't stop thinking about afterward.

Sometimes that's your alignment trying to get your attention.

And around here, alignment is the new hustle.

P.S.S. Sometimes your next level isn't another certification or promotion.

Sometimes it's finally trusting yourself.

If that hits... let's talk.

Are you LOVING being a lil FitZy?! We just coined the term. I would love your feedback and here's how you can provide that (aside from replying directly to this email).

"Send me a text" option at the bottom of each episode is the BEST way to send a written review. Follow the prompts on your phone- directions are key.

To leave a review on Apple Podcasts, open the Podcasts app, search for The FitZen Project, and then tap on the show's main page to open it. Scroll down to the Ratings & Reviews section, and tap "Write a Review". You can then tap the stars to give a rating, write a title and your review in the text fields, and finally tap Send to post your review.

You cannot leave a written review on podcasts in the Spotify app, but you can leave a star rating and comment on single episodes! By opening the Spotify mobile app, finding The FitZen Project, tapping the three-dot menu on the podcast's page, selecting "Rate show," and then submitting your desired star rating after listening to at least 30 seconds of an episode. (5 stars would be EPIC!)

And So Be It.
